Spiritually and Your Purpose in Life

My spirituality is really important for my well being. I take my relationship with God very seriously and I strive to develop a rigorous prayer life to discern the direction God wants me to take in my life. I rely on His direction to help me determine my purpose in life. All people struggle at some point in their lives wondering what their life’s purpose is, especially for people with AAC. We as people who communicate with AAC have an extra struggle of having no set role model to emulate. We need to form our own niche in society for ourselves, which will sometimes keep us wondering what our purpose is.

I am a dedicated Christian and believe that God is using me everyday for His will to be done on earth. I am willing to be used by Him although sometimes I am unclear about how I am to fulfill my purpose.  Am I supposed to write the next great novel and be a great writer, or be an advocate for disabled people? What place should I go to be most effective in making a difference? I struggle with these questions all the time and I came up with the philosophy that by using my writing talent I will try to affect my surrounding community.

As for people who communicate AAC my suggestion is to find something you really enjoy to focus your life on as a career goal. You should study and get training on that particular subject before getting started with your career. You will put in a lot of work to get your career going, but the reward is that you will have a career in the field you love, fulfilling your purpose.
