Jennifer Johnson

Jennifer Johnson has athetoid cerebral palsy and has been a Consumer Representative for DynaVox Mayer-Johnson since 2003. In this role she mentors other AAC users. She enjoys helping other AAC users who are seeking role models who are also augmented communicators.
In 2004, Jennifer won the United Cerebral Palsy’s Richard H. Sandberg Award for outstanding accomplishments by a person with disabilities in San Diego County for her volunteer work at the UCP’s Open Lab.
An accomplished athlete, she was a member of the twenty-nine swimmer U.S. Paralympics Team that competed in the IPC World Swimming Championships in Argentina in 2002. Jennifer won gold medals in all four of her events. Before retiring from swimming, she was ranked the number two S1 female swimmer in the world.
