Marleah Herman-Umpleby

Marleah has experience working as a speech language pathologist both in early intervention and for 8 years in several school programs for students with autism and with multiple severe disabilities. She has a special interest in collaborating with classroom teachers, therapeutic support staff, administrators, special educators and parents on effective interventions and carryover to both school and home environments. Her education at Penn State included a graduate traineeship designed to develop the special competencies required to serve individuals with severe communication disorders who require AAC through advanced coursework and clinical experiences. She also completed the Autism Certificate Program at Penn State and the Communication Disorders Program in Severe Disabilities at Western Carolina University. She is currently working as a clinical content developer for DynaVox Mayer-Johnson. Marleah loves spending time with family and friends, reading, and scrapbooking.
